Frequently Asked Questions
1.- What happens if the student has already a visa?
R.- The student visa is always sponsored by the Cultural Exchange Program. Therefore, a student needs the documents sent by the program to obtain the appropriate visa for the duration of the stay.
2.- Can we pay the program by monthly installments?
R.- No. The organization sets the available forms of payment that can be through two installments, but this must always be determined by the program. The whole cost has to be paid before the student travels abroad.
3.- Can the student stay for an additional time in the USA?
R.- Only if the student has a tourist visa and his/her family travels to the country to be responsible for the student. The health insurance expires once the student visa does.
4.- Does the family in Bolivia receive a student in exchange?
R.- No, the ICBolivia Program does not have this requisite.
5.- If the student does not get used to the host family, is he/she moved to another one?
R.- It depends on the situation. If there is a conflict , the program tries first to find a solution without moving the student.
6.- Can the student obtain a High School Diploma from the USA?
R.- No. In most cases the student does not receive a diploma. However, there has been few exceptions in the case of highly accomplished students, or the policies regarding each high school, in every different state.
7.- If we have friends or family in the USA, can the student live with them?
R.- No. The State Department does not allow these arrangements.
8.- Are the airline tickets included in the program?
R.- No, the family of the student must pay for the transportation costs.
